But, Switched at Birth has inspired so many to learn ASL, myself included! How can you say that a teen drama show is not the way to expose Deaf culture to Hearing culture? That show reaches millions of viewers - how else SHOULD it be done?

I agree with you. But I think Katie LeClerc wants a CI to reduce the symptoms of Meniere’s disease more-so than for the hearing aspect. For that I don’t blame her since random vertigo would suck. But everything else, I totally agree.

Yang Yang/Ivy, wasn’t, yeah. But I’m still talking about Michelle’s character and how the character was Deaf, but Michelle IRL wasn’t.
i didnt know that! then they should have found a Deaf actor to play her. another reason why i feel it is wrong is there are many Deaf actors out there and so very few roles....
